Girl Gang - October 2023

Hi Gals!  We had a cozy time together while it was hailing and raining outside.

Diane brought this fun Halloween quilt that she made a few years ago - in keeping with the season.  Love the fussy cut corners.

Diane made this cute label on her inkjet printer.

Debra made this adorable Christmas tree wall hanging.  The green wool is spiral cut, lightly blued together and finished with an antique bell.  Debra added some of her own embellishing.  The pattern is Christmas Rosette Tree from As The Crow Flies.  The kit is available at Handmaiden in Sandy.

Debra drew the pinwheels on freezer paper,
pressed them on the wool and cut them out.

Debra brought these finished Christmas stockings for some lucky recipient.

And, Debra has only 4 blocks left to stitch to finish up the 25 stockings in the cute advent calendar piece.  Each stocking opens for hiding a treat or little gift.

This snow globe has plastic over to
look like glass.

Lorraine brought the fun and happy birdie quilt that was made and given to her by her daughter-in-law.  She loves this quilt and feels so happy when she sees it.

Brittany has a love of all Liberty of London fabrics and is making this heirloom quilt from Liberty fabrics.  The stars finish at 3 1/2 inches.  The background is Moda 98 white bleached fabric.  The quilt will be 26 x 29 stars.  Brit said that it takes forever to pin and sew on a row.  The last picture is to give you perspective on the size.  It is beautiful!

You can see the dark star, light star starting to take shape in this strip.

Brittany is very exacting and the back side
of her quilt shows that.

Val brought this Jan Patek quilt that she made a while ago.  Diane has been looking for the pattern.  A fun quilt for the holidays that will be fun to enjoy in the holiday season.

Val made this cute seasons quilt by Cheri Payne.  It is darling.  The fabrics are beautiful and it is a sweet quilt.  Spring cleaning, summer parade, autumn harvest and winter chill.  Love the tiny blocks at the top!

Valerie shared this needlepoint pillow that her mom made that has their surname in red, their family crest and the parents and children's names.  What a treasure.

Julie is always working on some amazing projects.  This bright and happy quilt was a mystery quilt from Quilt Mania magazine.  The pattern was by Irene Blank and uses Art Gallery fabrics.  Julie waited for a year to get all of the kits so that she could start in the middle and have everything fit well.  It is a cutie!

Julie put this Folk Tails quilt by Sue Spargo away for a while because the road down the center was lined with bullion knots.  That would take forever.  When Julie picked it up again, she did wrapped thread for the street and it looks great.  A fun animal/tree quilt.

The cute backing fabric came with the kit.  Perfect!
