Girl Gang - May 2025

Today was our last time together until September.  Hope you all have a great summer!

Trudy said that she is motivated to finish up some projects that have been hanging around.  She brought this completed Christmas quilt from Primitive Gatherings.  It is cozy and makes you feel like you are in the forest with Santa.  Way to finish this quilt Trudy.

Kerry has finished this gorgeous project: Field of Flowers.  The pattern is by Kim McLean and is an amazing project.  It has 114 flower blocks, 8 bird blocks for the top border, 11 flower blocks for the bottom border and 90 leaves on one side and 80+ leaves on the other.  Wow!  A great project to complete.  Nice!

Lorraine has started this Botanical Sketchbook piece that is wool on linen.  It has a bunny and bird, flowers and butterflies, eggs and frogs.  It will be so darling when it is finished.

Lorraine brought this needlepoint piece and has had it finished into a pillow.  It is darling!

And, this piece is finished and framed.  It is sweet with birds and snails and pinecones and feathers.  A very sweet piece.

Laraine has finished this very large quilt called Flutterby, by Jen Kingwell.  It is in her Quilt Lovely book.  It is a fun quilt with bright fabrics and with a whimsical feel.  Laraine used fabric from her stash to make this quilt.  (She said this is the last huge quilt she will make.  We get it!)

Leslie is busy making baby and graduation quilts.  Her growing family is keeping her busy!  She has finished three baby quilts for great grandbabies.  The first is for Jimmy, second for Ava Leslie and the third is for Beth.   They are all hand quilted and so sweet.

Leslie has also made a picnic for a grandchild that is giant 9 patches.  That will be fun to lay out on the grass.

Her granddaughter, Chesney, is graduating from high school and asked if she could have a pink quilt.  Leslie has put together a sweet Irish chain quilt in pink and white.  It will be a fun quilt to remember graduation.

Leslie made these darling cross stitch pillows to tuck around her home for the 4th of July.  The patterns are by Tina Woltman.

This Blackbird Designs, Birds of a Feather piece is finished and framed.  Isn't it darling?!

Leslie is making this special cylinder shaped cross stitch piece for her daughter Cali for her birthday.  It is so soft and sweet.  The pattern is Blossom as a Rose from Blackbird Designs.

Janean has been spending a lot of time working on her mom's life history.  She is happy to focus on that instead of quilting right now.

Her mom was born on her great grandmother's birthday and was given this quilt that was made by her.  It is a fun crazy quilt and a treasure.

Janean brought this quilt top that she made from a Kaffe Fassett pattern.  Sewing border after border all around is quite a project.

Norma has been busy making little quilts and hand quilting them to donate to the Holiday Quilt Show and Auction.  They are so sweet and dear.  Anyone would want to own one of these charming quilts.

Norma has finished this quilt top full of lots of delightful fabrics that Norma has collected.

Norma brought this antique summer quilt that she found for $100.  She is always finding the best deals!  It is a beautiful quilt and so interesting.

Kathy shared this fabulous quilt that she made from a Jen Kingwell pattern.  It is called Golden Days.  Every block is interesting and fun.  It is filled with piecing and applique.  A beautiful quilt and the back is adorable.

We missed you if you weren't here.  We will break for the summer and start up in September on the 2nd Wednesday.  Have a great summer!

What fun to see new projects and what people have been working on. Leslie is as busy as ever.  She has made this Three Flags Log Cabin quilt...
