Girl Gang - May 2026

What fun to see new projects and what people have been working on.

Leslie is as busy as ever.  She has made this Three Flags Log Cabin quilt before but is making another for the country's 250th anniversary.  It is a lovely quilt from the pattern book Homefront by Red Wagon.

And, here is sweet little Maggie Mae!  She is a 36 count cross stitch bunny that will be made into a pillow.  It is sometimes used as an embroidery scissor keep.  The sweet little radish goes with it.  Leslie is ready to make the pillow with a sawdust filling.

Leslie has been so busy with patriotic pieces.  This disc shaped pillow is another darling cross stitch pattern with bunting and a revolutionary era theme.

Look at this sweet cross stitched strawberry that is a scissor keep.  French knots are the perfect little seeds on the piece.

Kerry made this wool applique piece called Coffee Break.  She was given the kit by Midway Wool and had fun embellishing it.  I noticed a K for Kerry on one of the books.

Kerry got her masterpiece quilt back from being quilted by Cindy Paulson.  It is a stunning quilt.  Every block is it's own exquisite piece.  Pictures just don't do it justice.  The pattern is from Dragonfly Studio by Suzanne Cody.  Kerry started it last June and it is magical.

The name of the quilt is Honeybee and Kerry has stitched that in the corner by the house with the beehive chimney.

The backing fabric is an Anna Maria Horner fabric that is perfect for the back and binding.

Lorraine loves to slow stitch free style.  She made this darling little bowl to hold little things.

She also made this slow stitch ribbon with lace, applique and fibers.

Lorraine finished this waterpot and flowers needlepoint piece.  It is so beautiful and ready for framing.

Lorraine is finishing up these sweet orchid needlepoint pieces for her daughter.

Liz has just finished this baby quilt for her little grandson who is due in July.  His parents love the outdoors and will be so happy with pine trees and animals.  It is a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman called Lookout.

Have a great summer and we will see you in September!

Girl Gang - April 2026

We missed you if you weren't at Girl Gang today.

Lorraine shared this sweet fabric book of slow stitching that she enjoyed working on.  She put all of the "pages" together in a darling book.  It is slow stitching and improv and lovely.

Brittany has just gotten this fun bicycle quilt back from the quilter.  She has made this quilt for her girls mountain biking coach.  It has soft gray minky on the back.  That is a lucky coach!

Brittany is always hand stitching and making fabulous little things like this Dresden plate and the Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks.  She uses Liberty of London fabrics for her blocks and will figure out how she is going to put them together later.  They are so sweet.

Laraine made this patriotic table runner from a poppy quilt pattern.  It is red, white and blue with a little twist on the colors.  She had it quilted with red thread which makes it so interesting.

Laraine just finished this block of the month quilt top.  The pattern is Long Time Gone by Jen Kingwell.  The border was made with any scraps left over from the project.  Laraine would have the work for one month done in a week and then await the next fabric kit to arrive.  The last kit will arrive soon and that will have the backing fabric in it.  It is a beautiful piece.

Trudy brought this darling basket quilt.  It is a Jan Patek pattern called Aunt Cora's Flower Basket.  The baskets are appliqued along with the flower/vine border.  It is a charming quilt.

Liz has had this quilt top sitting in her sewing room for 27 years!  The plan was to hand quilt it but it just wasn't going to happen so she finally took it to the quilter recently and then bound it.  She took the pattern off of an old quilt and reproduced it for the Holiday Quilt Show in 1997.  Then made one for herself and it is finally finished.  Yay!

Girl Gang - February 2026

Just wanted to let you know that Valerie was in a car accident on Saturday and has a hairline fracture on her 12th vertebrae.  Love and prayers to you Valerie.

Kerry was given a wool kit called Coffee Break that was all precut and ready to go with all of the embellishing thread to go with it.  It is so cute!  Kerry's embellishing is wonderful.  She is about halfway done.

Leslie and her daughter taught 3 classes at the Bryce Canyon.  She is still working on the amazing cross stitch piece for the country's 250th anniversary: One Nation Under God.  She is very close to being finished.  It is 1 thread over 2 on 36 count linen.  We love seeing the progress!

Diane brought a cute little ornament that she found stashed away and is getting it finished.  It is two sheep stacked on each other with a star on top and cut in a Christmas tree shape.  It's adorable.

Trudy brought the most amazing quilt.  Her aunt, Mary Crittenden (?) stitched it together and Trudy's mom ended up with it.  Trudy's mom was the youngest of 13 and her sister made the quilt.   It was probably done in the 30's.  She had the Relief Society tie it.  When Trudy got it, she knew that wasn't right.  She unpicked the ties and took it to a hand quilter in Park City and had it hand stitched.  It is so beautiful!

Girl Gang - January 2026

It's great to start the new year enjoying everyone's beautiful projects.

Trudy has been knitting away and her husband has been anticipating her finishing this beautiful cable throw so that he can enjoy it.  It is made of soft wool yarn and will be cozy on a cold night.

Leslie has been busy making all sorts of things to commemorate the country's semiquincentennial or 250th anniversary.  This One Nation Under God cross stitch piece is about halfway done.  What a beautiful tribute to our country.

Leslie has different sizes of bags to keep her projects in.

She also brought some darling pillows that she finished.

...and a sixth pair of wool socks.

She made a sweet little shawl, just her size with a picot edge.

This is a quilt pattern that Leslie plans to make, also for the country's anniversary.

And a cross stitch pattern of the Mayflower.  Leslie's ancestor was on the ship.  Leslie is going to be busy!

Debra has been making some darling quilts and we loved seeing Norma's beautiful patterns made up.  Debra made this sweet Love One Another that is wool applique.

Debra also made this darling Love Birds quilt, just in time for Valentine's Day.

We all loved seeing Silent Night which is piecing and wool applique.  It is a peaceful quilt and Debra embellished it with cute ice icicles on the cabin roof.

Debra had fun making snowmen and houses on this In The Meadow quilt.

Kerry has been obsessed with working on this Honey Bee quilt from Dragonfly Studio by Suzanne Cody.  It has taken 6 months.  Amazing. It features aboriginal fabrics and lots of other beautiful fabrics that have been fussy cut and placed so well.  The most amazing part is the 1/8 inch vines in the quilt.  Kerry used Celtic bias bars to make the vines so perfect.  A stunning quilt!  We can't wait to see it after it is quilted.

Cheers for Julie who has finished her Field of Flowers quilt!  It is back from the quilter and Julie has it bound.  It is so bright and colorful and the fabrics are amazing.  It is 95 x 95 and will be on Julie's bed.  The amount of hours to prep each block and applique them is quite something.  Well done Julie!

Liz and Jennifer were so happy to finish two quilts.  A Quilt for Alice was a fun project that had been tucked away for a lot of years.  It is a fun little star quilt.

Also, the Bunting Quilt by Tilda is also finished.  The fabrics were enjoyable to put into this quilt.  The quilting makes this quilt!
