Girl Gang - November 2025

What a beautiful autumn day to gather and share projects and visit.

Marilyn shared this lovely quilt made from luscious reds and cream.  It is a beautiful quilt and fun for Marilyn to have it finished.

Kerry has finished Field of Flowers, had it quilted and it is bound.  It took about a year and is an exceptional quilt.  So many small applique flower blocks, birds, leaves and dragon flies.  It is so great.

The back is a flamboyant Kaffe fabric that is perfect for the quilt.  Notice the striped binding that also works so well.  Way to go Kerry!

Kerry has been working on the Honey Bee quilt pattern by Dragonfly Studio.  It is amazing, with 1/8 inch vines and little fussy cut flowers and embellishments.  She is working on the borders right now.

The sashing is all Aboriginal fabrics that are so cool.

Julie has spent a lot of time working on this magical Halloween quilt.  It has wool applique and embellishing stitches and is so cute.  Pattern and/or kit at Midway Wool or Etsy.  It is scary fun!

Julie pieced the back to use the cute pumpkin fabric in the middle.  Looks great!
Julie is also working on this adorable Christmas moose.  He just needs horns and some other embellishments and he is finished.

Laraine has finished this yummy autumn quilt.  You just want to cozy up to the fire with this blanket.  The plaids are rich with color.  A great quilt!
The pattern is from Anka's Treasures pattern book.

She also brought this darling little dog to share.  Isn't he cute?

Lorraine - the other one - shared some beautiful needlepoint pieces that she has been working on.  This blue flower piece is so lovely and especially nice with the blue needlepoint border.

Lorraine has just begun this piece.  We love to see work in progress.  She has worked on the butterfly halo.  It has the sweetest face and we will enjoy seeing it when it is finished.

If you are familiar with Hawaiian quilts, this needlepoint piece is reminiscent of a Hawaiian quilt pattern.

Lorraine's husband loved bird watching and she made this piece to honor him.  The birds are so sweet with dark berries around them.

Ann and Brittany had a strawberry themed baby shower for Ann's niece.  Ann made this cute star quilt with strawberry fabric from Ruby Star.  It is a sweet little quilt.

Valerie has been using up some of her Aunt Gracie's fabrics for string piecing this bright quilt and lots more blocks.

Valerie loves the relaxed piecing on light pellon and then trimming and sewing together.

We were fascinated by Valerie's cross stitch samplers.  She made All Creatures Great and Small by Barbara Anna Designs on 40 count linen.  It is so close to being done and is so beautiful.

She also shared this Scarlet House Flower Motif Sampler that is done on 36 count linen.  Each little flower is it's own treasure.

What could be more cute than this Little Ghost Who Was a Quilt made by Debra?  It is so adorable and makes you want to read the book again.  So sweet and clever.  It is blue and cream blocks with two black appliqued eyes.  "Everything had happened because he was a quilt."

Debra made this red heart quilt that will be all ready for Valentine's Day!  Each heart has a 9-patch for the base.  It is wonderful with all of the rich red fabrics.  Darling!

Debra has quite the creative talent and she used it to make this adorable Santa scene that fits into a tree shaped cake pan.  It is so clever.

The pattern is adapted from the Santa's Coming to Town stocking pattern.  Just so clever!

Trudy has finished up this Jan Patek quilt that has been in the works for a while.  It is all done!  Piecing, quilting and binding and it is so charming.  She said it is a Girl Gang quilt pattern and it is so fun.

Norma is always creating something new and wonderful.  Her latest is this Christmas table topper with deep red berries and an amazing striped fabric in the borders.  It is do darling!

Leslie has been going to a knitting class to learn to knit socks.  She loves to wear a pair and then keep them on at night when she goes to bed to keep her snug and warm.  She loves the little stitches.  You can see them on her feet right here.

Leslie is hand quilting this beautiful autumn leaf quilt.  It has wonderful old fabrics in it and is so beautiful to look at.

Leslie has also taken on a very big cross stitch project for the country's 250th birthday.  It's called the semiquincentennial!  This cross stitch is worked on 36 count linen in a beautiful hand dyed gray.  We can't wait to see the finished product.

Leslie also brought Though He Seemeth Sleeping cross stitch framed.  The colors are so soothing and the thought comforting.  It is to honor her grandmother who died at 31.

One of Leslie's favorite things is to make sweet little pillows and tuck them around her home.

Brit is always creating something new and wonderful!  Her inspiration was a quilt from her husband's grandma.  (I hope that's right)  She is calling it Grandma Zella's Cabin.  She took the idea of a scrappy log cabin and ramped it up with color and a cool border.

The backing fabric:

Brittany's girls are on a biking team and so she is making 2 bike quilts.  The bikes are made up of the colors of the bikes that belong to each team mate.  One quilt is for her girls and one for their coaches  who are married.  That is a labor of love!

Jennifer and Liz just got two quilts back from the quilter.  The first is A Quilt for Alice that was a kit that we got at least 10 years ago and we finally got it put together.  We love the little stars and the wide sashing.

And, this happy quilt called the Bunting quilt and is made with Tilda Jubilee collection.  It was a fun quilt to make and Mindy Powell did a beautiful job of the quilting.  The pillow was also with the free patterns.

See you all December 10th!

Girl Gang - May 2026

What fun to see new projects and what people have been working on. Leslie is as busy as ever.  She has made this Three Flags Log Cabin quilt...
