Girl Gang - October 2021 And more!

Oh, no!  I forgot Debra's beautiful and amazing quilt in the last blog.  My apologies Debra because we wouldn't want to miss this fabulous quilt.  So, this adorable little quilt is called Squash Squad, a pattern by Sue Spargo.  Debra's embellishing is so great.

And, here are some great tips and tricks from Ann and Brittany.
These EdMar premium gold-eye #10 Milliner needles are supposed to be the very best for applique and stitching down bindings.  I think Brittany said they are available at Quilts, Etc.  And, of course, they are available online.
This is a block of the month pack that Brittany gets from Duck A Dilly.  It is the Liberty fabric collection with the paper piecing patterns included.  This one is called Suzy Quilts - Shine.  If nothing else, just getting that adorable box is worth the kit!
And, we are all going to buy this new ruler that Ann shared.  They are pricey but have some sort of grip on the bottom (nano technology?).  Also, the lines are very thin for absolutely accurate cutting.  I found them cheapest on Fat Quarter Shop.  Ann loves how they don't slip.

Thanks for the tips!

Girl Gang - October 2021

After 19 months of not getting together, it was nice to gather and share projects.  This photo of Brittany shows how much she got done in those months!

Vickie brought this wonderful top out of Civil War fabrics.  It is made from a Kim Diehl pattern.

Brittany has been busy.  She shared this amazing blue quilt that was accepted to the Springville Art Museum quilt show.  It is called Expand Positivity and has her signature bee label on the back.

Brittany also took old fabric that had been her grandma's and made this antique looking quilt with pink background.  She calls it Grandma's Quilt.

Brittany is just finishing up this improv quilt with graffiti quilting.  Graffiti quilting is the act of taking many different quilting elements and motifs and putting them together into one quilt.  I looked it up!

Brittany is ready to find her applique dot quilt that she calls Candy Wrappers.  Every circle is quilted differently.  Super cute!

Brittany found this quilt online and liked it's random quality.  It reminds me of my own grandma's quilts.

Brittany made this darling unicorn quilt for one of her girls.  It is an Elizabeth Hartman pattern.

It was great to see Debra and her beautiful work.  She brought this wool quilt, Forest for the Trees, a Sue Spargo pattern.  Each block was a work of art so I put them all on.  Can you find the bats?  Love the goats in the trees.

Debra also brought her beautiful Solstice Dream quilt.  It is Kerry Green's pattern and so beautiful.  Of course, Debra did a  lot more embellishing on the quilt.

Debra finished Nocture, another of Kerry's patterns.  It is a delightful quilt and so fun to look at.

This adorable Halloween quilt is a Jan Patek pattern, Trick or Treat.  Debra did such a cute job and it was fun to see this quilt.

Ann got a fabric pack in the Netherlands of these beautiful Dutch blue fabrics and put them together in a quilt called Lattice Quilt.  The colors are so rich.

Here is the link to the video for this pattern: http://land.missouriquiltco.com/lattice-quilt-tutorial/

Ann shared this amazing quilt top with fabulous fabrics.  The pattern is The Violet Quilt but Ann calls it her Plus Quilt and wants to make one for each of her kids because of what they have added to their family.  Cute, huh?  If you notice, the ombre pluses go from dark to light and the smallest squares go from light to dark.

Liz finished the small quilt, Flowers Outside My Window, one of Norma's patterns.

I am also working on Nocture, Kerry's wool quilt pattern and am halfway.  Yay!

I also finished Autumn Splendor, another of Norma's patterns/kits.  We all love the splash of gray blue in this little quilt.

Jennifer and I finished these fun Halloween pillows last year.

So, gals, hope this inspires you all and happy quilting and stitching!

Girl Gang - May 2026

What fun to see new projects and what people have been working on. Leslie is as busy as ever.  She has made this Three Flags Log Cabin quilt...
