It was great to be warm and cozy and share our projects.
Valerie has been working on some great quilts. This darling, scrappy 9-patch and star quilt is so great. It is about 50" square and has a pieced flag in the border.
Valerie has had this quilt top finished for a very long time. She had it quilted and has bound it. It is the cutest snowman quilt. Great for December and January to display.
This blue quilt was from a kit that Valeria purchased but she used lots of her own fabric. She said it looked like a bit of a beginner quilt but really was more technical. She is still searching for just the right binding fabric.
Debra made this adorable quilt that is even cuter when you know that it is called Lost Socks. She started it in 2004 and finished it this year. We all have projects like that and it was fun to see it finished. It is as darling on the back as on the front.
Lorraine has did this cute bunny cross stitch on a dark even weave fabric. It is so cute with the alphabet below.
Lorraine loves embellishing and had a great time with this piece that she calls In My Garden. The inspiration came from the pattern Watercolor Garden. Lorraine had fun adding flowers, butterflies, ladybug, owl, dog and bunny among the beautiful flowers. Vickie has been very busy since spring working on two wedding quilts for grandchildren. This king size quilt was quite the project. Think about all of the corners that need to match. It is called Prep School Picnic by Amy Smart. She not only pieced it, she did the machine quilting on it. It was so big that she held up one side and then the other. Wonderful!
Marilyn has been doing a little cleaning and is finishing up a few projects. This is a Kaffe quilt that she and Lorraine started together. It has been coined, "the quilt from hell" because the directions weren't great and it was quite the project. It is actually named Harlequin.
Marilyn is a master at machine applique and has done a beautiful job on this Laundry Basket quilt called Spring Bouquet. She is getting herself geared up to quilt it. It will be fabulous when it is finished.
Kerry brought her Squash Squad quilt - a Sue Spargo pattern. It is the cutest quilt. Kerry put her own embellishments in the border. She also made some cute little bowl fillers for fall.
A big shout out to Julie for making a zillion flower blocks to put in this Field of Flowers quilt. It is fabulous and amazing that Julie found most of the fabrics in her stash. She had the kit but ended up using her Kaffe fabrids. So beautiful. She will start working on the borders soon.
Laraine brought this mellow quilt that she loves to put on her table. It is called Scrap Bag Stars and is a Buggy Barn pattern.
Laraine found these darling antique 9-patch blocks in California and made them into this fun quilt. She had to eliminate a few blocks that were deteriorating but how cute is this!
