Girl Gang - December 2021

Kathy Muir brought this beautiful quilt that she made out of fabrics from her daughter-in-law's fabric lines.  You can find Laura Muir at: Create Joy Project and also find her Star Flower Christmas line of fabrics.  This quilt is a Kim Diehl pattern and Kathy's color choices are great and the whimsical flowers make the quilt.

Laura works in watercolor and mixed media to design her fabrics for Moda Fabrics.

This creative quilt, also by Kathy, was a project that Kathy and her sisters did together at her cabin at Bear Lake.  They all shared their fabrics, added a gray background and came up with this darling quilt.

This quilt is Laura's pattern, made by a quilter for Moda.  It is called Flurries and Pines Day and there is also the same quilt with a deep blue background called Flurries and Pines Night.  If you keep a watch out, the quilt kit will be going on sale at The Quilters Lodge this week.  They are doing Kit-mas and offering a different discounted quilt kit every day.  This one will be offered this week.

Look at the gorgeous fabric on the back.

This is another quilt, Sweater Weather, designed by Laura and made by Moda quilters
All of the fabrics are from the Star Flower Christmas line

This is a fun Bear Paw quilt that Jennifer made while cooped up during the pandemic.  It is bright and cheery and such a fun quilt.

Jennifer deserves extra cheers for finishing this quilt that has been in the works for a few years.  She found the pattern in Charleston, South Carolina and ordered the fabrics.  The pieced corners really make the quilt.  Way to finish Jen!

Diane shared this little block that she made many years ago when she first started quilting and took a class from Sandy Fox.  It is all hand pieced and the leaves and berry are lightly stuffed.

Leslie has been working on this quilt for the year and a half of pandemic shutdown.  It is called Blessings and chronicles her life and family.  She and Dennis, each of her children and grandchildren, loved pets and dear friends.  Favorite sayings and meaningful messages are added in embroidery and also each person's name.  What an amazing quilt!

Oh, there is Leslie, Nan, and Dennis, Pop.

Leslie's label on the back.

Brittany calls this her picnic quilt because she is going to haul it around and let her kids sit on it and connect happy memories with this quilt.

You can see by Brittany's hand that there is a little itty bitty row that is barely a quarter inch wide and all pieced.  Brittany doesn't waste any little piece.   Leslie suggested calling the quilt Every Little Bit because Brit uses every little tiny scrap of fabric.

The backing is pieced with some bear prints.  Maybe she had a teddy bear picnic in mind?

Ann brought her amazing Plus quilt back because it has been quilted and she is stitching the binding down.  Her choice of colors and textures is fabulous.

The quilting is 3/8-inch spaced wave lines and perfect for the quilt.

Diane shared the picture of her quilt, Meadowlands, that she has on her bed.  She promised to bring it next month to share.  Don't you love her choice of fabrics?

So, gals, lots of great projects came out of being confined at home.  Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and great, healthy new year.  We will be meeting at Diane Ward's, January 12th for lunch.  See you next year!

Girl Gang - May 2026

What fun to see new projects and what people have been working on. Leslie is as busy as ever.  She has made this Three Flags Log Cabin quilt...
