Girl Gang - February 2024

Happy Galentine's Day!

It was nice to gather, share projects and chat.  Norma brought a wonderful strawberry bread that was so delicious.

Brittany has finished her amazing Liberty of London star quilt and it is fabulous!  It has 783 stars in it and Brit has enough leftover stars to make a smaller quilt.  The quilt is made with such precision and the fabrics are beautiful.  Quite a project Brittany!

Brit is machine quilting this Swedish ancestor quilt.  It uses the Swedish flag colors and cross.  she hopes to enter it in the church art competition.  It has Brit's signature tiny pieces in it.

Debra has been busy making itty bitty pieces for holidays and celebrations.  She painted two wood houses to pin them on.  Each one is just so cute!

Norma brought a cross stitch piece called In All Things Be Exceedingly Glad, by Needle Work Press.

Norma brought her little tiny 9 patch blocks that she is continually working on.  She cuts the fabric up and sews them together as leader piece when she is piecing something else.  She has lots of these darling blocks that will make a great quilt. They finish at 2 1/4 inches.

See the fussy cut blocks?

Norma loves to cross stitch and shared this darling little pillow and also her secret for stuffing it.  She irons fusible fleece on the wrong side of both the front and back fabrics.  She cuts a slit in the backing fabric and sews the pieces together, flips it right side out and then stuffs the corners with fiberfill and then adds walnut shells.

This piece is put on foam core so that Norma can put it on an easel to display.  It is so cute!

Leslie shared this Winter cross stitch that is in a frame made by Dennis.  The rustic frame is perfect for this piece.

Leslie brought three quilts that are hand quilted and so sweet.  She loves to tuck them around her home for a sweet touch.

Lorraine has made a darling sewing machine cover called Grandma's Button Box.  It features buttons of all sorts.

A Well Dressed Hare was a fun project for Lorraine.  She added a few extra embellishments like carrots.  Such a cute quilt.  Wool on wovens.

Kerry has started the quilt Of a Feather by Sue Spargo.  She didn't need to order a kit because she has wool and embellishing threads galore.

This darling little block of the month sampler book of hand embroidery stitches is so cute.  Of course, Kerry isn't new to embroidery stitches but she has enjoyed putting this project together.  She did enjoy the video instructions that came with the pattern.

Kerry is getting ready to take on a big project: Field of Flowers by Kim McLean.  It looks amazing and we can't wait to see it!

Kerry picked up this fun Tula Pink project bag on Etsy.  It is about 20" square and works great for her large blocks that she is working on.

Julie brought her Folk Flower quilt to share.  It is an Anna Maria Horner pattern.  She added extra border fabric on the sides so that it fits her bed.  It is so striking and beautiful.

Liz finished the binding on her Gift Basket quilt, a Laundry Basket quilt pattern.  It has been a fun quilt to work on.

Girl Gang - May 2026

What fun to see new projects and what people have been working on. Leslie is as busy as ever.  She has made this Three Flags Log Cabin quilt...
