Girl Gang - January 2023

It was fun to get together after the holidays.  We send well wishes to those who aren't feeling well right now.

Brittany has been busy making tiny quilts for Maileg mouse dolls to sell at the JeniBee Market February 8-11 at This is the Place.  These adorable little quilts - maybe 3 1/2 "x 4" - are so sweet and any little girl would love to have one for her little mouse.  Brit is using all of her tiny pieces of Liberty fabrics to make these adorable quilts.

Can you see the cute little mouse for the center of the hex
quilt that Brit is making?  So cute!

Brittany also let us know that Martingale is closing out and many quilt books are on sale for less than 50%.  Darn.  I already bought Jen Kingwell's Quilt Recipes at the full price.  You can get yours now!

Diane shared this darling sweater that were pieces that Patty Owens knit and Diane's daughter put the pieces together.  It is so sweet.  Wasn't Patty so prolific?

Diane also shared the tee shirt that has her grandchildren nicknames on the back.  Such a fun memory.

Diane has been so busy working on different Elizabeth Hartman quilts.  She is working on Spectacular Savanna right now and having so much fun making it.  It is quite the project.

Ann had quite the story to share about this quilt that she made for her son, Nate, in the 90's but never finished it.  Nate had a quilt in his car that Ann and Brent got for their wedding.  It was a navy gingham quilt with stitching to make a pattern.  Ann was working on this plaid quilt for Nate in high school but she couldn't find the gingham quilt.  Nate finally confessed to having the navy quilt in his car and he gave it go a man on the street who looked cold.  So.....Ann didn't finish this plaid quilt for Nate.  She just got it out recently, had enough leftover fabric to add another row on each side and had it quilted with rich navy minky on the back.  It is so great and she did a wonderful job.  Nate will be surprised.

Ann is also working on this wool scarf.  It is a pattern that is two elongated triangles together.  It is made from UNEEK wool yarn.

Jennifer and Liz want to do the cross stitch piece that Leslie shared last month but Liz couldn't start another hand stitching piece until she finishes Nocturne.  She hauled it out last week and it was about two thirds finished.  She is working hard to get it done in the next two weeks.  Kerry, it is such an amazing pattern.

Liz also made this cute little stuffed plum.
Liz and Jennifer are working on this Plum Garden quilt from the Tilda book: Quilts From Tilda's Studio.  The fabrics a luscious.

FYI - Girl Gang will be February 8th and will be at Diane Ward's - 3051 South Marie Circle.
