It was fun to see everyone's projects!
Julie brought this beautiful sampler quilt from the original pattern, Mrs. Stewart's Sampler. It was reimagined by Kathy Doughty of Material Obsession in bright colors. It was sent out from Australia as a block of the month. She started in September 2021 getting a block of the month shipment every month for 10 months. What a fun quilt!
Kerry went to a fiber arts fair and loved the beautiful fibers. She ended up buying a kit of wool threads from Greenwood Fibers to make a shawl and thought that her neighbor would be happy to crochet it for her. Instead, the neighbor helped her get started and Kerry did the crocheting herself. It is so soft.
Kerry made this darling "Needle Beetle" piece that came from Quilting From the Heart. The kit was from West Coast Wool. The stitching is beautiful and each bug is fun.
Kerry's niece is experimenting with embellishing wool and developed this cute pattern called Chicken Scratch. Kerry tried it out and had fun with all of the chickens.
Kerry's latest creation is A New Day. It is as wonderful as it can be with beautiful colors and threads and embellishing stitches. Cindy Paulsen did the quilting and it is amazing. Beautiful Kerry!
Lorraine brought her sister Sheri and it was fun to see her pieces. The first one was an autumn pumpkin themed banner. It was so cute.
Sheri named this little piece Lurky. It is her own cute design.
Lorraine shared some fun projects. She is the needlepoint queen! This bag is from Quilts, Etc. and is made from needlepoint canvas with a pattern to stitch on.
Lorraine brought the amazing Christmas stocking that she did and the hours of stitching is something to imagine. So darling.
This whimsical sun piece is so gorgeous. Lorraine enjoyed the bright fibers and threads for this piece. the purple mat and gold frame really set it off.
Vicki as been working on this beautiful 9 patch made of rich batik fabrics. It just needs a border on it to be finished. It is striking.
Diane bought two old quilts on Etsy or was it Ebay? Anyway, she took them and cut them up to make jackets for her granddaughters. She used a sweatshirt pattern. They are so fun and look super cozy. Don't you love the scalloped border on the one? Now she just needs to make a few more for the other granddaughters!
Just a little reminder that the Holiday Quilt Show will be Saturday, November 12th to Thursday November 17th at Little America Hotel Mezzanine. The cost of tickets is $7.
