Girl Gang - February 2025

It was cold outside but we felt warm and cozy gathering together and sharing out projects.

Norma has made lots of little pillows to tuck in to special places in her home to give her happy thoughts.

Norma shared this scrappy nine patch that is hand quilted and so sweet.  It is a small quilt.

Red quilts are great this week of Valentine's.  Norma brought this Set Your Sails red quilt.  You can find the pattern on Norma's website: Timeless Traditions.

This Need'l Art pattern is so charming.  The muted colors and bright red are a great combo.  Fun quilt!

Trudy brought her Lost Socks  quilt that she hand quilted.  It is a fun quilt!  A good way to use leftover fabric.  The pattern is from Black Mountain Needleworks.

This Blooming Nine Patch quilt is a little different Kaffe look from normal.  Marilyn put this very cool quilt together from an All About Color Quilting kit called Charming Blooms - Big Blooms.  It is so striking.

Laraine brought her cozy quilt called For the Boys from the Jen Kingwell Quilt Lovely book.  She used 36 different wovens and shot cotton.

Lorraine brought these darling pears that she did needlepoint on.  So sweet.

She also brought a sweet needlepoint project that she finished in record time called Welcome Home.

Kerry has done so much work on her Field of Flowers quilt by Kim McLean.  She has the whole center finished.  That is a lot of work and the borders are a project as well.  It is so amazing.

We loved seeing a project that Kerry did in 2018 called Around the Block.  We haven't seen it before and it is so whimsical and fun to look at.  Houses, flowers, trees, fines and a little doghouse labeled for her dog.

Debra has made two incredible wool quilts that have beautiful embellishing on them.  The first is Trade Winds by Sue Spargo.  It is a magical under the sea quilt with all sorts of sea creatures.  It is so fun to study.

The other one is called Fresh Cut, also by Sue Spargo.  It has flowers and birds and cute pots with lots of beautiful embellishing.  It is gorgeous.

Debra shared her finished stitch book.  So cute.

Kathy has finished the last stitch on her Halo quilt, a pattern by Jen Kingwell.  The colors are rich and happy.  It is such a fun quilt.  Just think about all of that curved piecing!  Nicely done Kathy.

Great backing fabric!

Kathy had fun using her 30's fabric on the quilt Granny's Shuffle.  Don't you love 30's fabrics?

Leslie said that if you start and finish a sampler in January that you will have good luck all year.  Of course, she is going to have good luck!  This cross stitch sampler is for her daughter-in-law for her birthday.  It is beautiful.  It is stitched on 36 linen.

Leslie has a GREAT grandbaby coming soon and has been quilting on this gray cross quilt.  It is a basic design but the hand quilting makes it magical.  That is a lucky baby!

She has started this Civil War quilt from The Blue and the Gray book from Patchwork Place.  It is called Blue and Gray.  We can't wait to see the finished product.  And, look at the cute little stitch pillow for winter.

Liz is ready for Easter with this cute tiny quilt and matching pillows from Norma's kit: Spring Has Sprung.  She has discovered Appli-Kay Wonder, a light fusible webbing that is a little tacky on the second side and can be repositioned.  Also, it doesn't shift before you can iron it down.  Great stuff.

Jennifer and Liz have just gotten their Folk Flower quilts back from the quilter.  That has been a big project but it is a great quilt.  Happy to have it quilted and ready to bind.  Love the Tilda fabrics!
