What a pleasure to see Valerie Marsh at our gathering today. Valerie has gone through major cancer treatments and just as she was finishing her treatments, the pandemic hit and she still had to isolate. It was wonderful to see her and her beautiful quilts. Valerie has named this quilt Victory Quilt. she started it after she finished chemo. It is beautiful.
The back is pieced and has a strip of fabric with positive affirmations and is inspiring to Valerie.
Valerie made this darling pumpkin quilt out of Fig Tree fabrics in muted oranges and lime green with a perfect balance of black and gray to make the quilt pop.
It is darling the the backing and binding are perfect finishes to this quilt.
Valerie is also piecing this ocean waves quilt that is so rich and beautiful.
Brittany shared her Improv Log Cabin that she just finished binding and she is sewing the label on. It is neat how the cream stitching and red stitching disappear on some fabrics. Such a striking quilt.
The fun pieced back.
Brittany's completed Candy Button quilt. Too cute!
Debra brought this darling bag that she just finished. It is a Sue Spargo pattern called Of a Feather. The wool applique was stitched to a Yazzii organizer tote. It is so great.
And, guess who got married just over a year ago? Diane Ward! She married Wynn Egan and is very happy. And, also still quilting along. Congratulations Diane!
Diane's fabric stash must be so amazing because the fabrics in this quilt are stunning. The pattern is Wenslydale by Jen Kingwell and it looks like Diane might be about ready to start sewing blocks together.
Gaylynn brought this beautiful Bear Paw quilt in forest green and antique muslin.
This floating star quilt is another quilt by Gaylynn. It will look so cute in her home as she puts it out to display.
We will be having Girl Gang in December on 8th at 1:00. On January 12th, we will have a lunch to celebrate the new year. Happy quilting!
